[HWPL] Peace Education for the Youth in Four Countries
Greetings, Family of Peace! :)
Today I have brought wonderful news for the future generations of the world!
Indian News Link, India, 13/10/2018 |
HWPL and its chairman, Mr. Man Hee Lee, have been working on the establishment of a peace education curriculum which has already been implemented in several countries for many years.
"HWPL INTRODUCED PEACE EDUCATION TO PROMOTE THE CULTURE OF PEACE. THUS FAR, ABOUT 165 EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS IN 12 COUNTRIES, INCLUDING THE UNITED STATES, INDIA, ISRAEL, INDONESIA, AND THE PHILIPPINES HAVE REPORTEDLY OFFERED THE PROGRAMME."
It's amazing, isn't it? 165 educational institutions in 12 countries. Then what made these educational professionals think that HWPL's peace education could be so significant for their country?
CHED Commissioner Dr Ronald Adamat of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in the Philippines answered :
"STUDENTS WOULD LEARN TO UPHOLD THE PRINCIPLE OF ‘UNITY IN DIVERSITY’ AND EMBRACE THE DIFFERENCES AMONGST PEOPLE. THEY WILL BE EQUIPPED WITH KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ATTITUDES, AND VALUES IN CONFLICT RESOLUTION AND PEACE WORK AND BE FURTHER ENCOURAGED TO WORK FOR THE CESSATION OF WARS, HOSTILITIES, AND DISUNITY."
Peace education will teach children how to consider peaceful resolutions in place of fighting and wars when they encounter conflict growing up. The education they learn will be inscribed into their hearts (I hope) and they will become citizens of peace.
This year, new educational M.O.Us were signed between HWPL and four countries :

That day, Mr. Man Hee Lee, the chairman of HWPL, urged educators on by saying :
"AT THIS TIME, THE WORLD IS CRYING OUT FOR PEACE SINCE IT IS SURROUNDED BY WARS. THE WORLD IS DEVELOPING WEAPONS OF DESTRUCTION RATHER THAN DEVELOPING A CULTURE OF PEACE. CHILDREN TAKE AFTER THEIR PARENTS AND CONFORM TO THEIR ENVIRONMENT. THEY SHOULD LEARN PEACE FROM THEIR HOMES AND SCHOOLS. THEN, OUR NEXT GENERATION WILL INHERENTLY BE BORN AS PEACE MESSENGERS IN AN ENVIRONMENT OF PEACE"
I really agree that children 'should learn peace from their homes and schools'. They will surely keep world peace :) Forever. I wish that all schools in the world will accept HWPL's peace education and teach children world peace :)
