[HWPL] HWPL Hosted '2019 Peace Education Conference' in Romania - 'Realizing Peace Starts from Peace Education'

On April 2nd in Bucharest, Romania, HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light - International NGO under UN ECOSOC), Master Peace (Youth Group in Romania) and IPYG (International Peace Youth Group - one of HWPL's two wings) co-hosted '2019 Peace Education Conference - Teacher's Role for Peace Education'

More than 700 educators including political, religious, women and youth leaders and NGOs, leaders of global peace organizations and journalists joined in the event to discuss practical ways of achieving world peace through peace education.

One of the participants, Mr. Dumitru Marius-Gabriel, said :

"....raising the awareness of peace should be done for the most basic level. Through this education, children understood that they have the power to do good acts on their level. They can actually change their lives and the lives of their family in the future...."

and added : 

"Working with HWPL for this project brought me much joy and fulfillment because I could blend my normal lessons with the message of peace....Furthermore, this education should spread not only to our students but to all the students everywhere......"

HWPL's Peace Education and its chairman Mr. Man Hee Lee aim to create a peaceful world without wars as an eternal inheritance to future generations. HWPL has signed Peace Education MOUs with 200 educational institutions in 21 countries including Romania, the Republic of South Africa, India, Israel, Kosovo and the Philippines to provide students with peace education, transcending nationality, race or religion.

Chairman Man Hee Lee of HWPL said : 

"........Everything you see, hear, feel, and learn should be engaged with peace education. We can call it practical peace education. And it starts with the mindset that we can achieve peace. HWPL aims to create a world like this....."

It is very encouraging to hear about the influence of HWPL's Peace Education from school teachers and students. Ms. Maglan Isabe, a student of Mihai Viteazu National College said :

"What HWPL is proposing is the new way of seeing topics such as anti-bullying, non-violent communication, and collaborative activities ......The HWPL peace curriculum emphasizes the value of tolerance, care, social equality, peace, justice, cooperation, solidarity, and human right that can create a culture of peace. It helps us define peace and its value that would lead the students to the leaders of peace."

Mr. Dragomir Marian, President of Master Peace, said :

"My belief, that made me work with HWPL with its peace education curriculum, is that education in personality, skill, value, and attitude is important for social, economic, and political development in any country."

Mr. Marian added that article 10 "Spreading a culture of peace" of the DPCW (Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War) clearly addresses the role of "Peace Education".

Mr. Young Min Chung, Director of IPYG (International Peace Youth Group) explained that the DPCW's articles 1 to 5 address conflict prevention, 6 and 7 resolving conflicts, and 8 to 10 introduction of ways of achieving a sustainable, peaceful world. He urged all participants to achieve world peace together through the DPCW.

Currently, HWPL and Chairman Man Hee Lee are looking forward to the DPCW being enacted at the UN General Assembly this year for ratification as legally-binding international law.
