[HWPL] HWPL's Peace Work Becomes a Textbook for the World Peace..."Let's Learn Peace Culture"
|
Article 10 of the 10 articles of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) promoted by Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL, Chairman Man-Hee Lee) is becoming a reality all over the world. Schools from various countries that support HWPL's peace education have signed MOUs and MOAs to participate in peace education. On September 20th 2018, at the parade to commemorate the 4th anniversary of the World Peace Summit, the HWPL Gangwon Branch performed with the theme, 'Eternal Heritage Peace Education'. |

On December 2nd 2015, Chairman Man-Hee Lee attended the “HWPL Peace School Designation Ceremony” hosted by Israel's Mar Elias School and held the unveiling ceremony of the “HWPL Peace School” with President Mar Elias. |
The United Nations (UN), an international organization, was established to prevent war and to maintain peace, but war continues in many parts of the world. Despite the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) that has hit the world, indiscriminate bombing and looting are acting as greater threats than the virus in regions where war has broken out.
For example, in the case of Ethiopia, where civil war is still going on, thousands of people have been killed in the war in the last month, and 950,000 people have become refugees and are scattered.
The answer to peace that can prevent such innocent sacrifices. What is the solution? The 'Peace movement' shown by HWPL is particularly noteworthy as it provides clear answers to such questions as a civil organization that no global or government organization has achieved
The international civil peace organization,'Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL, Chairman Man-Hee Lee)', with an important answer to achieve peace, proposes, 'Peace Education to Cultivate Peace Messengers and Spread a Culture of Peace'. By signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with more than 214 educational institutions in 34 countries, including Kosovo, HWPL has made remarkable achievements in enabling peace education not only in elementary, middle and high schools, but also in universities.
Man-Hee Lee, founder of HWPL and a Korean War veteran, said, “Let's build a world of peace without war and pass it on as a legacy to future generations." He took the lead in the peace education project.

Most of the time, humanity wishes for peace, but in reality, schools in each country do not even have a subject called “peace”. It is the current state of mankind today that even though international organizations have been established to achieve peace, they do not even teach peace to children who are “future protagonists”.
HWPL Peace Schools established around the world can lay the groundwork for educating on appropriate and just treatment for all humanity by internalizing the importance and value of life and cultivating respect for oneself and others through peace education. This makes it possible for students to play an important role in overcoming hostile situations caused by differences in nationality, ethnicity, religion, culture and ideology.
HWPL Peace School also teaches students the norms necessary to maintain peaceful coexistence within their communities and helps them build a peaceful mindset. Through this, we can understand the method of harmonious coexistence which enables us to respond peacefully in various situations.
The reason why HWPL's peace education can have such a great effect is that it is not only in words, but the fact that HWPL's peace movement, which Chairman Lee has initiated and implemented, is used as the basis for education. A case study is the peaceful settlement of the 50-year religious armed conflict on Mindanao Island, Philippines, which was achieved by Chairman Lee's direct mediation.

Chairman Man-Hee Lee, who is the Chairman of Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light, visited Mindanao Island on January 24 to 25 in 2014, and led the mediation of the Catholic-Islamic conflict, which had been ongoing for about 40 years, and signed a peace agreement (above). Previously, Chairman Lee met with former Prime Minister of East Germany Lothar de Mazière in the first World Peace Trip, and President Jacob Zuma of South Africa in the third World Peace Trip, presenting a vision for world peace and asked for their participation (from the left) |
In the Philippines, ethnic disputes, centered on the island of Mindanao, had not ceased for 50 years. Muslims who were persecuted as a minority group in the Philippines which is more than 80% Catholic, formed the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and have fought armed struggles for segregation and independence. In the process, as many as 150,000 people died.
Chairman Lee visited Mindanao Island in the Philippines in January 2014, met with local leaders, including state and religious representatives, to propose an end to inter-religious conflict, which was the core reason for the conflict, and successfully led the civilian Catholic-Islamic peace agreement. After that, peace was finally realized as a peace agreement was signed between the government forces and the MILF, which is the largest armed force in Mindanao.
HWPL signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for ‘Peace Education’ with the Philippine Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in February 2018. CHED is an educational governmental institution responsible for higher education. CHED promised to introduce the peace education course and textbooks produced by HWPL through an MOA after coordinating them with the local education system in the Philippines.

HWPL's peace education was also passed on to the United States. In January 2018, HWPL signed an MOU with Golds Academy in Anaheim, California to provide peace education programs in Los Angeles, USA. At this meeting, HWPL Chairman Man-Hee Lee emphasized, "Every school and teacher must educate students about peace. At this point, we must achieve peace within the global community."
At the 'Global Peace Education Development Forum' held in Korea hosted by HWPL in September of the same year, an MOA on the implementation of HWPL peace education was signed between HWPL and the Cambodian Ministry of Education and Youth Sports, Sri Lanka Ministry of Higher Education and Culture, Guatemala Ministry of Education, and Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Science Research.
In addition, in January the same year, HWPL signed an MOU for Peace School with “Islamic National University in Jakarta Sharif Hidayatula (UIN University, President Dede Rossiyada)” among four Southeast Asian countries conducted as part of the 26th World Peace Trip. UIN University also appointed Chairman Lee as honorary president that day.

In December 2015, five schools including Ramagya School, Noida International University, Alkon Public School, Samsara School, and JP School in India, honored Chairman Lee’s peace movement and designated themselves as the 'HWPL Peace School' and also appointed Chairman Lee as an honorary director.
Pravin Roy, the principal of Samsara School, pledged, “I hope many students will hear about Chairman Lee’s peace movement. We will gather students from 50 schools in New Delhi.”
Israel Mar Elias School was also designated an HWPL Peace School, and appointed Chairman Lee as honorary principal. The school promised to provide peace education to about 3,000 students once or twice a semester using HWPL's peace activities as a material.
President Elias Chacor said, "HWPL's peaceful actions are an example to the world. I hope that the students of Mar Elias School will become messengers of peace through HWPL's peace education and become an example of leading the world's youth."
At Kosovo Pristina University, designated as an HWPL Peace School, a banner containing HWPL's activities was created and installed in the lobby to inform students of Chairman Lee's peace activities, showing great interest.

Peace!
At this critical stage of human history, all heads of state - both existing and former - should publicly declare their support for HWPL's Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) if they truly desire to cease wars. In the words of H.E. Viktor Yushchenko, former President of Ukraine, “The DPCW is a perfect and balanced document that can be the basis of solidarity for peacekeeping in all countries of the world. I think all the leaders of the countries should support the DPCW”✌
