[HWPL] Let's Talk International Peace Law through the DPCW Handbook Discussion Project!

HWPL has been operating its 'DPCW (Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War) Handbook Discussion Project' in many countries including Afghanistan, Tunisia, Romania, Bangladesh, India and more since 2020 through NGOs in each respective country. It has opened a way for law students and citizens throughout the world to understand the value and spirit of world peace through the DPCW, so that people everywhere can work together to achieve world peace by constructing an international consensus for an end to war and achievement of global peace.

The DPCW is a draft for a new international law with 10 articles and 38 clauses to ensure sustainable peace worldwide for future generations.

Participants of the Handbook Discussion Project are divided into groups to discuss and present one clause of the DPCW for 1~2 hours with comments from law experts. 

Dr. Masum Billah (Director of Human Rights Summer School, Empowerment Through Law of the Common People, Assistant Professor of Jagannath University) said, "I hope the DPCW handbook discussion project will serve as an opportunity for students to grow mentally. Communicating and cooperating with each other in the process of preparing for the project is a truly valuable time, so I hope that the rest of the time will be in a peace and harmony attitude."

Dr. Ashok Kumar (Faculty Member, Faculty of Legal Studies, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University in India) added, "The DPCW project will promote peace around the world. I think this opportunity will allow students to analyze and examine effective laws for peace."

Through the DPCW Handbook Discussion Project, it is highly expected that participants will thoroughly grasp the importance of world peace that must be protected for the world. Moreover, they will become peace advocates who can spread the DPCW curriculum to people in their country.
