[HWPL] The 1st WARP (World Alliance Religions' Peace) World Peace Summit, Opening a New Horizon for ‘Cessation of War and World Peace’
“It would take a book to write down all these emotions. If you want to know how peace can be achieved and what peace is, please listen to Chairman Manhee Lee.” - Rossie Kaiser, Dutch pastor.
“There are no words to describe how surprised I was to see this event.” - Nada Saed Abdulnabi Dhalf, President of BRAVO, Bahrain.
From September 16th to 19th 2014, the 1st WARP Summit was held in Seoul, capital of the Republic of Korea, hosted by the United Nations registered organization Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL). People from all over the world participated in the WARP Summit, which opened a new horizon for the cessation of war and achievement of peace that mankind has dreamt of. Attendees agreed that this was a new approach to peace, needed in the present era, with the most groundbreaking content in human history.
Chairman Man-Hee Lee stated that the WARP Summit was “a declaration in front of all peoples of the world for the cessation of war and world peace”, and participants from each country and the foreign media expressed their admiration for this “unprecedented event” with one voice.
The 1st WARP Summit included 33 former and current heads of state from 15 countries, 712 religious leaders from 110 countries, and members of IWPG (International Women's Peace Group) and International Peace Youth Group (IPYG) from 60 countries. It was held as a global peace festival with 500 representatives and members of youth organizations from 134 countries, 200 reporters from 100 media organisations from 80 countries, and a total of 200,000 people in attendance that included political, social, and legal figures.
The opening ceremony on the 17th was evaluated to be more impressive than the Olympics. The card display section was performed by 12,000 people moving in unison, conveying a message of peace like a huge electronic billboard, and the high-quality cultural performance of ‘Peace Arirang’ enhanced the festive atmosphere.
On September 18th, at the Grand Ballroom of the 63 Convention Center in Yeouido-dong, Seoul, the largest number of politicians and religious people in history gathered in one place to sign the ‘Agreement to Propose the Enactment of International Law for the Cessation of Wars and World Peace’ and ‘Unity of Religions Agreement’.
The peace treaty ceremony was held in the form of signing the 'Agreement to Propose the Enactment of International Law for the Cessation of Wars and World Peace' and the ‘Unity of Religions Agreement’. The 'Agreement to Propose the Enactment of International Law for the Cessation of Wars and World Peace' is an international law enacted by former presidents and Supreme Court justices of each country and the United Nations for the cessation of war and achievement of peace in the global community, whereby the incumbent president signs the agreement for peace for the country and the people.

12 representatives of 11 religions, including the Catholic, Buddhist, Hindu, Jewish, Shia and Sunni Muslim, Sikh, Zoroastrian, Jain and Baha'i faiths attended the peace agreement ceremony.
After that, about 2,000 people, including former and current presidents, representatives of various organizations and adherents of each faith signed the peace agreement and joined HWPL's peace movement for the cessation of war and achievement of world peace.
On the last day of the event, at the Peace Gate in Olympic Park, Songpa district, Seoul, about 30,000 members, including 650 youth groups from 140 countries, held a peace walk and chanted “We Want Peace!”

Participants' testimonials were consistent. The fact that about 20 heads of state and 2,000 religious, women, youth, and peace leaders gathered in support of the 'Cessation of War and World Peace' was enough to record this event as a 'historic moment'. Participants also expressed their surprise towards Chairman Man-Hee Lee's groundbreaking 'Agreement to Propose the Enactment of International Law for the Cessation of Wars and World Peace' and ‘Unity of Religions Agreement’.
About 200 foreign media from 80 countries around the world, including CNN Arabic and NBC in the US, reported from the site and competed for coverage.
On September 16th 2014, foreign journalists competed for coverage during a press conference ahead of the WARP Summit at the Sheraton Walkerhill Hotel in Gwangjin district, Seoul. |
Khaled Al Shouly, a reporter for CBSP.fr, who has been actively reporting on the conflicts within the Middle East including the Gaza Strip in Palestine said, “I am moved by the idea of Chairman Lee.” He emphasized, “The fact that people of different religions, races, continents, and genders met for the cessation of war and world peace is very important for mankind.” He added, “The WARP Summit is a place that will open a new era of peace.”
CNN Arabic reporter Heda Caliph Sarhan said, "Peace is especially desperate for young people. If WARP Summit continues every year, the peace will be fulfilled in various form." He stressed, “Peace must be realized on the Korean Peninsula in particular, I will deliver peace news via every media.”
Peace!
HWPL’s peace work is unprecedented. I sincerely hope it will continue with great vigour, as it seems peace and stability is needed now more than ever in these uncertain times. More than 30,000 people from 157 countries attended the 7th Anniversary HWPL World Peace Summit online on Sept. 18th 2021, and more than 200 schools worldwide have been designated HWPL Peace Academies, educating today's youth on the importance of peace.
ReplyDeleteMoreover, many heads of state - both existing and former - have publicly declared their support for HWPL's Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW), citing it as the only solution to ceasing all conflict and achieving peace on a global scale. The words of H.E. Viktor Yushchenko, former President of Ukraine, sums up the importance of the DPCW very well: “The DPCW is a perfect and balanced document that can be the basis of solidarity for peacekeeping in all countries of the world. I think all the leaders of the countries should support the DPCW.”
May the words, 'We are One!' ring true in 2021 and into 2022✌️
