[HWPL] Peace Tours of Man-Hee Lee (45): Five Schools in India Designated as ‘HWPL Peace Academy’, “HWPL Peace Education is the Answer to Peace”

During the 16th Peace Tour in December 2014, Chairman Man-hee Lee received an invitation from Ramagya School in India, but was unable to make a visit at that time and left a short message in response, saying, “I will certainly visit you in the future.” Chairman Lee fulfilled that promise on December 20, 2015, exactly one year later.

On December 20, 2015, at Ramagya School in India, students are taking commemorative photos after greeting Chairman Lee, wearing red T-shirts with the acronym IPYG (International Peace Youth Group) engraved on them and holding a ‘PEACE’ hand sign

Receiving Chairman Lee's response, Ramagya School made preparations for an important event. The 'Monument to the Declaration of World Peace' was installed in the school to promote HWPL peace education. The Declaration of World Peace, which Chairman Lee proclaimed to the world on May 25, 2013, was engraved on the monument with a message of peace.

On that day, Ramagya School held the HWPL Peace Academy Designation Ceremony along with the unveiling ceremony of the monument.

Regarding the implementation of HWPL peace education in primary and secondary schools, Principal Shweta Mishra said that she “strongly believes that HWPL peace education is a resource for peace and reconciliation.“ She said, “I was deeply moved and surprised by HWPL's activities", and added, "Currently, many activists continue to make efforts for world peace, but HWPL has provided a clear answer to achieving peace."

The answer to peace presented by HWPL is the enactment of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) and the World Alliance of Religions' Peace (WARP) Office. Regarding this, Principal Mishra emphasized, “I hope that every student of Ramagya School will become a student of peace who knows how to resolve conflict. And I believe that only HWPL peace education can achieve this.”

On December 20, 2015, Chairman Lee fulfilled the promise he had made one year earlier and visited Ramagya School in India. He is giving a commemorative speech at the HWPL Peace Academy Designation Ceremony, which was held at Ramagya School.

Chairman Lee, who gave a commemorative speech, said, “All these events today will serve as a great education for everyone throughout the global village. It will shine in history. You are the hope of the world.”

Chairman Lee continued, “There is a saying that 'a king, a teacher and a father are one', but we have one bigger parent,” and explained, “God the Creator, who gave birth to and created this world, is our parent.” Then, Chairman Lee said, “Though the world is harsh, Heaven is working for the peace of mankind. We must all follow Heaven’s will. We are the messengers of this era, born in this generation.”

The schools in India that became HWPL Peace Academies on December 20, 2015 are Ramagya School, Samsara The World Academy, Jaypee Public School Noida, Ahlcon Public School, and Noida International University

A total of 5 schools in India became HWPL Peace Academies on that day: Ramagya School, Samsara The World Academy, Jaypee Public School Noida, Ahlcon Public School, and Noida International University.

HWPL appointed the following individuals as HWPL ambassadors: Director Rajni Gupta and Principal Shweta Mishra of Ramagya School, Principal Anjali Malik of Jaypee Public School, and Principal Praveen Roy of Samsara The World Academy. Principal Mishra, who said she got to know Chairman Lee in 2014, said, “I was very excited to meet Chairman Lee, who lived a life similar to mine. I also saw my friends dying in war, so I can connect with Chairman Lee and truly understand his vision.” In addition, Principal Mishra said, "I know how precious human life is and that no one has the right to take it away. That's why I will work for peace until the last day of my life."

On the 21st, through the introduction of Narinder Singh, UN International Law Commissioner, Chairman Lee met with Sudarsana Natchiappan, President of Indian Society of International Law, to discuss the peace education process. The interview was held at the office of the Indian Society of International Law. The Indian Society of International Law is the premier national institution for education and promotion of international law. HWPL sought to have peace education made available to international law students by registering the HWPL peace education course as a regular curriculum there.

Chairman Lee first explained to President Natchiappan the activities pertaining to the enactment of international law and the WARP Office movement that had been pressing ahead since the 2014 WARP Summit. Chairman Lee explained their current status, saying, “We are trying to enact an international law to end wars for the cause of peace.”

Explaining why he is conducting the WARP Office movement, Chairman Lee said, “I do not believe that world peace will be achieved just because international law is enacted. Religions must unite in God, then religiously-motivated wars will come to an end."

On December 21, 2015, Sudarsana Natchiappan, President of Indian Society of International Law, and Chairman Lee had a meeting

Chairman Lee said, “The law of heaven is recorded in religious scripture. The laws of this world are very important, but the laws of heaven are even more important.” At the time of the WARP Summit, former and current presidents, legal experts, political heads, and NGOs gathered and signed the Agreement to Propose the Enactment of International Law for the Cessation of Wars and World Peace, while religious people gathered and signed the World Alliance of Religions Agreement.

President Natchiappan agreed, saying, "The law of heaven and the law of the earth, as the Chairman said, must unite and strive to achieve peace." He also said, “As President of the Indian Society of International Law, I will also participate in the enactment of international law that the Chairman desires. Through my knowledge and experience of the United Nations, I can help the HWPL peace movement.” He became an HWPL Advisory Council Member on that day.
