[HWPL] HWPL's 7th Anniversary of DPCW and Chair ManHee Lee

In March, HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light, Chairman ManHee Lee) held the 7th Annual Commemoration of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) in several continents, including Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas.

More than 7000 dignitaries, including the members of the HWPL Peace Committee who had completed the drafting of the DPCW with Chairman ManHee Lee 7 years earlier, gathered in Seoul, Korea to share the progress of peace worldwide.

About 10 years ago, when I had just been discharged from military service, I came to know HWPL and Chairman ManHee Lee while researching the topic of global civil conflicts to satisfy my curiosity in ongoing global issues. At that time, the island of Mindanao in the Philippines was suffering from a grave civil war that lasted more than 40 years, and Chairman ManHee Lee and HWPL resolved this conflict through non-violent means.

Chairman Lee brought an end to the conflict in Mindanao by holding a peace talk between the warring Catholic and Islamic groups. Before the talk, HWPL and Chairman ManHee Lee held a Peace Walk to spread a culture of peace in Mindanao with the many locals who had gathered out of a desire for regional peace.

Chairman ManHee Lee's pressing appeal is that humanity unites to achieve sustainable world peace in this current generation to pass on the legacy of peace to future generations worldwide. He doesn't just talk peace, but has worked tirelessly for it through practical peace campaigns for over a decade.

Chairman ManHee Lee and HWPL have traveled the world more than 35 times to meet and dialogue with prominent politicians, religious and civil leaders to unite them for the common goal of peace, and has hosted peace events such as the 5.25 Peace Walk, 3.14 DPCW Commemoration, and more. A number of legal experts, lawyers and politicians whom Chairman Lee has met throughout the peace tours have become members of the HWPL Peace Committee, which succeeded in drafting the 10 Articles and 38 Clauses of the DPCW prior in 2014.

HWPL and Chairman Lee has also spread a culture of peace and peace education worldwide in schools and academies that desire to educate their students on peace, implemented a Peace Education curriculum and published textbooks to educate future generations on non-violent solutions to ongoing conflicts and the prevention of a potential outbreak of conflict from the outset. Countries which are experiencing or have experienced the pains of conflict and war passionately welcome the peace movement of Chairman Lee and HWPL.

Today, in 2023, HWPL and Chairman ManHee Lee, together with numerous dignitaries and supporters, are endeavoring to implement the DPCW at the UN for the sake of world peace. Chairman Lee always insists on 'working together' towards world peace.

“Peace cannot be achieved alone. If everyone can live together as one, there will be no more wars or conflicts. As the saying goes to 'love your neighbor as yourself', war will be eliminated only when mutual love and respect is established. Current international law cannot prevent the outbreak of war. Russia, a permanent member of the United Nations, has waged a war. The DPCW was introduced to renew the inoperative international law in order to eliminate wars. Now is the time to achieve peace. Just as people learn through the process of creating (something), peace must be taught at home and at schools in order to create peace. If people’s hearts change, a better world will be created. May every person in the global village become a messenger of peace.”
