HWPL Peace Educator's 2024 Gathering
On February 17th, the “2024 HWPL Peace Educators New Year’s Gathering” was held, organized by the HWPL HQ Peace Education Department. A total of 303 HWPL peace educators from 55 countries attended this event.
HWPL is dedicated to training educators worldwide as peace educators, appointing those who have received peace education training as peace educators, and actively implementing HWPL peace education. Currently, 1,704 educators from 65 countries are actively working as peace educators.
The New Year’s Gathering was an opportunity for peace educators from around the world to share their experiences in peace education and address the challenges they have faced. Through discussions and exchanges, educators once again reaffirmed their commitment to diligently fulfill the mission of spreading a culture of peace through the Peace Educator’s Pledge Ceremony, solidifying their sense of duty.
The participating educators pledged to take the lead in promoting a culture of peace in 2024 and committed to developing specific plans for peace education activities. Additionally, HWPL awarded the Peace Educator Certificate as a token of gratitude to 50 educators dedicated to peace education.
Otgonbayar Oidov, the Director of the Lifelong Education Center in the Orkhon province of Mongolia, expressed his desire to move forward with peace education and said, “After seeing it being actively promoted in other countries, I felt a desire to spread peace education in the area for which I am responsible.”
Marija Janković, an ESL English teacher at Hugo Badalić Elementary School in Croatia, expressed her astonishment, saying, “It is wonderful to hear the experiences of other teachers or representatives from different countries and discover how similar we truly are, and how much we all desire the same thing—peace. All these testimonies only confirm to me that we have a very important role, which is to educate the young generation about peace and promote peace. My current role as a peace educator is to promote peace, live in peace, and teach young people the importance of peace.”
HWPL will continue to vigorously conduct peace educator trainings in 2024, targeting educators worldwide, and devote its efforts to spreading a culture of peace through peace education.

This is a beautiful post. The fact that one of the five member states of the UN Security Council has launched an invasion of a neighbouring country without repercussions proves that international law and its implementation is weak and in need of reform. I do think the DPCW is the solution to the cessation of all global hostilities.
